Strategic communications for organisations whose work resists easy summary.
№ I — My Approach
Your work is concrete, real, and far-reaching.Your comms should be, too.
You’re a climate org working with 22 institutional partners across 40 countries to reduce global dependence on coal power. Your settlement services offer housing, language, and job coaching to 1,200 families a year starting fresh in a foreign land. You provide comprehensive support to hundreds of the city’s homeless, from food and temporary lodging to counseling and lobbying for affordable housing.
Yet your comms use the same abstract and generic language, and your work ends up doing nothing more than making ‘impact’ in the ‘ecosystem,’ like everyone else. Why?
It’s a structural problem. Whether for funders or the public, external NGO comms often move through multiple internal stakeholders and departments, finding consensus in general terms that fail to do the work justice. They lose sight of what they actually do and who they’re actually written for.
I offer an external eye, bringing organisations back to their real work and intended audience while respecting their integrity and know-how. I find the narrative red thread running through the complexity of what you do, sacrificing neither the stories that make your work matter nor the numbers that convey its scope. Because your story should be as effective as your work itself.
№ II — The Clarity Sessions
A short, intensive engagement to do exactly what the approach above describes: finding the narrative red thread that runs through your work, in language that’s neither generic nor jargon-laden. You leave with a story that speaks to what you do and the audience you want to reach.
Standalone, or as the foundation for further work. Whether before a funder presentation, alongside an impact report, or as the start of a longer engagement, these sessions give downstream work something solid to stand on.
